đ„âïž The Knockout Wasnât the Scariest Part
He got droppedâbut what happened next couldâve been fatal.
Hey Warrior,
Most people walk into a fight like theyâre walking into a tunnel.
They only see whatâs dead aheadâŠ
âŠAnd thatâs exactly how they lose.
Tunnel vision gets you tunnel results.

Real-world violence doesnât happen like a sparring match or a clean little duel.
It happens in chaos.
And the faster it escalates, the more important this truth becomesâŠ
âŠThe most dangerous person in the room might not be the one youâre facing.
Environmental Awareness
In the video we looked at in our Facebook Group, Nightclub Knockdown, the bouncer does what most people doâhe zeroes in on the loudest voice.
All his attention is on the guy talking in front of him.
But what he doesnât notice is the guy behind him, the one reaching for a gun.
Heâs blind to everything but the words.
And when the punch landsâheâs still blind.
This is the failure of situational awareness in 4K.
No scanning.
No read on posture.
No clue where the second man is or what his hands are doing.
And it nearly gets him shot.
Hereâs the hard truthâŠ
⊠If youâre not scanning, youâre not fighting smart. Youâre gambling.
And youâre going to lose eventually.
Train to Think Like a Weapon
Start simple. Start daily.
Wherever you areâcoffee shop, grocery line, gymâwatch hands.
Watch Posture. Distance. Eye contact.
Then ask yourselfâŠ
⊠If that guy did something right now⊠whatâs my move?
Build the habit of prediction.
Turn scanning into a reflex.
In training, donât just sparâwatch.
Whoâs in your periphery?
What are they doing?
Where would your back be if this got real?
Drill this into your warm-ups. Add a second attacker.
Work from âinterviewsâ instead of full-blown attacks.
Make your students talk, then strike. Force them to divide attention without losing structure.
Youâre not just a fighter. Youâre a system. Think like one.
Go back and watch the Nightclub Knockdown again.
This time, donât focus on the punch. Watch the friend. Watch his hands. Watch his distance.
Post your thoughts. Break it down with the crew. Weâre not here to just watch fightsâweâre here to dissect them.
Before You Go...
Where are your eyes in training?
Are you tracking targetsâor just reacting to pressure?
A weapon doesnât flinch.
It calculates. It scans. It strikes with precision.
Be the weapon.
Stay sharp,
â Paul Simoes
