Be careful what you say to a Cabby
Hey Warrior,
It was cheap shot.
I donāt know about you but I find slaps to the face insulting.
Itās probably one of the few ways you could draw me into a fight.
And I guess the guy in this weeks senario felt the same way.
Iām calling this one The Cabby Kerfuffle.
Letās see what happenedā¦

Street fights rarely follow the highlight-reel script.
One minute youāre trading words, the next youāre half-strangled by a guy who smells like yesterdayās dumplings.
This weekās āCabby Kerfuffleā shows a single lazy head-lockā¦
ā¦and the crazy snowball effect that led into ground scrambles, tree-dodging, and a flurry of hail-Mary punches.
The lesson?
Break the head-lock fast..
ā¦or better yet donāt get into one in the first place!
In the next four emails weāllā¦
ā¦drill escapes
ā¦range control
⦠and barrier tactics so you never end up wondering where it all went wrong.
Stay tuned, stay teachable, and bring your questions.
Iām unpacking every messy second of this 59-second chaos reel.
What Happened?
Iām sure that slap echoed down the block!
And I donāt know what was said but it inspired a visceral response.
The āvictimā came out swingingā¦good effort but only ended up getting himself in a potentially dangerous position.
Headlocks are not a good place to be.
So this week Iām going to show you how to deal a few different variations.
Lucky for the victim he was able to recover and eventually turn the whole thing around walking away some pride left intact.
The unfortunate part is that in order to get there he provided his attacker with so many opportunities to finish the fight.
This could have ended way differently.
Watch the Clip
Think youād have slipped that head-lock faster than our guy? Prove it.
š Watch the 59-second chaos reel in the Operatorās Lounge ā then hit replay and count every escape window he missed.
Before You Go...
Getting caught in a head-lock reflects poor position, panic, and planning.
If you donāt train to recognize the setup, youāll always be reacting late.
The real mistake wasnāt the slap or even the scrambleā¦
ā¦it was not having a plan for what came next.
Have a plan. For the clinch. For the choke. For the chaos.
Thatās how you stay in controlā¦
ā¦even when the fight looks nothing like the drills.
Stay sharp,
ā Paul Simoes
