š„āļø Too Late to Escape. Now What?
Hereās how to take back control when the headlock is tight and ugly.
Hey Warrior,
Weāve talked about beating the headlock before itās locked in.
Thatās the smart move.
Being honestā¦
⦠itās very difficult to do. Especially under stress.
Sometimes you just get caught.
And thatās when youāve got a decision to make.
Letās explore.
But first a word from our sponsor.

Ok⦠so you didnāt frame in time.
Didnāt slip out.
Didnāt stop the grip.
Now youāre bent over, head twisted, and someoneās trying to drag you down or punch you in the head.
Whatās your play?
Do you:
A) Grab their wrist, peel down, and turn your chin in tightā
then reach up and wrench their face back until they break grip and lose control?
Orā
B) Take it to the ground right away?
Drop weight, fall backwards and pull them down for some ground and pound?
Both are valid options.
Both require intent and follow-through.
But each comes with trade-offs.
What Feels Most Natural To You?
Do you like to stay standing and peel + strike?
Or are you the type whoād rather crash and control on the ground?
More importantly⦠would your instinct hold up under pressure?
Itās not about preference.
Itās about what your body defaults to when your brain is screaming and your breath is shallow.
Whatever option you choose, youāve got to pressure test it until itās second nature.
Thatās the only way to trust it when the real thing hits.
Before You Go...
Hereās your challengeā¦
ā¦Donāt just drill the techniqueādrill the decision.
Because real fights donāt give you time to plan.
You need to recognize the moment, pick your exit, and commit with everything youāve got.
So whatās your move?
Which path do you train for?
Tell me in the Lounge. Letās trade notes. Watch videos.
Adaptability wins.
Stay sharp,
Paul Simoes
