Could You Finish the Fight Under Pressure?
The technique was the easy part. Let’s see what happens when it gets real.

now it’s time to tie it together in motion.
Today’s drill recreates the original threat and we do a full walk-through of the scenario under pressure, movement and urgency.

Simulation Setup
Set up a small space to loosely mimic the café environment…
…this could be a living room, garage, or dojo corner with a chair, table, or backpack acting as environmental obstacles.
If you have a partner, have them take on the role of the bad guy.
The drill starts when the bad guy gives a verbal cue like “Give me the bag”.
(If you’re solo, that’s totally fine—just make sure you visualize the threat clearly…see their posture, hear their tone, and react to their movement cues as if it’s real.)
Use a harmless object like a marker or water bottle to represent the mace if you want to practice controlling a weapon hand.
The more real you can make it in your mind, the more your body will treat it like a legit rep.
Drill Flow
Start in a relaxed stance, facing away or off-angle
Attacker begins a verbal escalation (“Give me the bag”)
Respond to the threat
Execute your chosen response (RNC, strike, takedown, control)
Apply verbal commands and environmental awareness as follow-up
Training Progression (IMPORTANT)
Start Slow: Practice at low speed with a fully compliant partner
Focus on flow over power. Smooth movement = faster reactions under pressure.
Once smooth, layer in:
Verbal chaos
Minor resistance
Environmental clutter or unpredictability
Which part breaks down when you add pressure—timing, control, or awareness?
Keep drilling to find ways to overcome it and realize that nothing will ever work perfectly.
Solo Training Tip
Narrate out loud.
Use real verbal cues.
Step through it physically while seeing the attacker in your mind’s eye.
It’s not about miming—it’s about mentally rehearsing a future fight.
