š Hey Warrior,
What do you do when a punch or even a push is coming at you?
You gotta move, right?
We've all been there and it sucks if you donāt have gameplan.
It sucks to feel helplessā¦
ā¦But what if you had a go-to move, something reliable that could get you out of harm's way AND put you in a better position?
For me, that move is the 90-degree pivot.
It's my favorite evasion because it not only gets me out of the line of fireā¦
ā¦it also puts me on the outside of my opponent's lead, setting me up perfectly for a counter-strike.
What's YOUR favorite evasive move? (Respond to this email and let me know)
We can help each other by understanding different evasive strategiesā¦
ā¦then we can all become more adaptable and effective in real-world self-defense situations.
So, I want to know:
What's your favorite evasive move, and why?
In what situations is your favorite move most effective?
Are there any drawbacks or limitations to your go-to technique?
What tips or drills do you have for practicing and perfecting evasive maneuvers?
I'll share more drills for my 90 degree pivot in the Pro Section of the Newsletter below. But in the meantime hereās a basic one:
Pivot in Place:
Start in a fighting stance.
Practice pivoting 90 degrees to your left and right, keeping your weight balanced and your eyes focused forward.
Focus on maintaining a low center of gravity and moving smoothly on the balls of your feet.
Do 3 sets of 10 repetitions on each side.
Final Thoughts
Remember, Warrior, the ability to evade attacks is a crucial component of self-defense mastery.
It's not just about avoiding damage; it's about controlling the engagement and creating opportunities for success.
Stay agile, stay adaptable, and keep moving, Warrior.
